INVOCATION
WOPAJO FREE VERSE

We knew You not
until Your sun
gave us
Your light
We sensed You not,
until Your clouds
gave us
Your rain.
We feared You not
until Your church
gave us
Your judgment.
We loved you not
until Your grace
gave us
Your mercy.

We know not
who or what
You are.
but hope
You are.
If hope be faith
that You are real,
and faith in You
be not in vain
the answer's clear.
